The Bayern Munich defender has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks. United are known to have an interest in the centre-back as Erik ten Hag aims to strengthen his defence during the summer transfer window.
De Ligt is currently with the Netherlands national team as his country reached the quarter-final of Euro 2024. The Dutch claimed a 3-0 win over Romania in their last-16 tie on Tuesday night to book their place in the next round.
It was after the game that De Ligt was spotted walking through the mixed zone at the Allianz Arena, which also happens to be the defender’s home stadium for Bayern Munich. This is where players typically stop and answer questions from the media, but that was not the case for De Ligt.
