Man United pushing to complete Leny Yoro deal, some of his reps in favour of Reds move

July 17, 2024 Jordan Street 0

Man United are still pushing to sign Leny Yoro, with some of his entourage now in favour of an Old Trafford switch.

Manchester United Football Club need to sign at least one centre-half this summer. The Old Trafford side lost Raphael Varane on a free transfer, while the futures of Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire are far from secure.

The name most linked with filling the void early on in the window was Jarrad Branthwaite. Attention then turned towards Matthijs de Ligt and now it looks like Leny Yoro is the new frontrunner.

Acquiring the man from Lille will not be easy, as Real Madrid continue to be the favourites in that hunt.

However, Foot Mercato journalist, Santi Aouna, has provided an encouraging update from the Reds’ perspective.

According to his latest information, some of Yoro’s entourage are now in favour of their client making the move to Old Trafford rather than the Santiago Bernabeu.

United are continuing to ‘push’ for the signing of the French teenager, while contract negotiations with the player’s agent are now taking place.

It does appear that with each passing day Real Madrid refuse to make an offer for Yoro, United’s chances at making this deal happen are growing.

It feels clear (to me at least), that United would prefer to bring in Yoro over Matthijs de Ligt at this stage, albeit both players represent great options.

Perhaps it’s the fact that Yoro offers more longevity, while he can also be moulded into a player that fits Ten Hag’s image that little bit easier.

I still think it’ll be tough to beat out Real Madrid, but suddenly, it feels like the Reds have a chance at pulling off something pretty special here.

Leny Yoro or Matthijs de Ligt? Who would you prefer to sign? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
