Liverpool boss Arne Slot could not have gotten off to a better start in the Premier League. There is much more to come from the Reds under his stewardship but two consecutive 2-0 wins, with little drama and few chances conceded, is an excellent start.
While work continues in the background on transfers before Friday’s deadline and there are big contract calls to come, on the field, things have started nicely. With only one game per week at the moment, though, the injury situation is not too bad — but there have already been a couple of niggles.
Jarell Quansah missed training at least a couple of times last week but was fit enough to make the bench against Brentford having been hooked at half-time against Ipswich Town. In his place, Ibrahima Konate was excellent, meaning he might have a task on his hands to work his way back into the first-choice starting XI.

The only other injured player that Liverpool currently has is Curtis Jones. The 23-year-old midfielder is yet to play a minute in the Premier League this season and faces a race against time to make it in time to play at Manchester United next Sunday.
“It’s going to be close but we’ll have to wait and see,” Slot said when asked whether or not he would be fit to face Manchester United at Old Trafford next weekend. “It’s always difficult to see how an injury evolves — if that is the right word — during the upcoming week.
“He is not going to be out for a long time but it’s going to be close for him to get there next week and I’m quite sure he is going to do everything to try and be ready. In Holland, we always said we cannot say anything about injuries. Maybe that is different here! It is to do with privacy.”
Liverpool.com says: Things are not looking too bad on the injury front for the Reds at the moment but the season has only just begun. When there are two big games per week once the Champions League kicks in, the squad will really be tested.
