Fernandes reflects on ten Hag’s departure
United captain Bruno Fernandes has spoken to the media after the match. He started by reflecting on today’s result.
“We could have won the game, not that Chelsea didn’t deserve to get the goal and a draw as they also played a good game, but I think it was a good game from both teams,” he said.
Fernandes was also asked about his feelings regarding Erik ten Hag’s departure from the club.
“We all know that when the manager leaves, everyone is involved but only one pays. I spoke with the manager and apologised if there was something I could have done better for him, but I feel really disappointed that he’s gone,” said the United skipper.
He also looked ahead to the arrival of ten Hag’s replacement at Old Trafford.
“I have spoken with him [Amorim] once or twice when I have been to Sporting games, but nothing major.
“I watch every game of Sporting as they are my team there, but we never know what the manager is going to do when he arrives here. For now we focus on everything we can do to give the best for Ruud.”

United struggling for goals
It’s hard to believe, but Manchester United have only scored two more goals than Southampton this season.
United are the third-lowest scorers so far, with just Crystal Palace and Southampton below them.
There was more evidence of that lack of quality in front of goal today, with Garnacho and Fernandes both missing big chances in this game.
Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojland were both taken off this afternoon, with both players searching for form.

Spurs move closer to Villa
There was one Premier League game earlier today as Tottenham hosted Aston Villa in North London.
It was quite the comeback from Spurs, who went behind in the first half when Morgan Rogers scored from a corner.
Spurs’ summer signing Dominic Solanke was on target twice for the home side, with Brennan Johnson and James Maddison also on the scoresheet.
Spurs now sit seventh in the league, just two points behind Aston Villa.

Tough viewing for Amorim
New United manager Ruben Amorim will likely have been watching this one from afar as he prepares to take over at Old Trafford.
He probably won’t have liked much of what he saw, with United again struggling to find goals.
He still has some time to work on things before taking charge, with his first game not scheduled until November 24 against Ipswich.
Caretaker boss Ruud van Nistelrooy has two games left in charge. He hopes to hand over this squad in some kind of form.

United remain in the mire
That result means Manchester United’s worst-ever start to a Premier League season continues.
They are now 13th in the table, with 12 points after 10 games.
Chelsea, meanwhile, move into the top four. They are level on points with Arsenal and Aston Villa but ahead on goal difference.
Chelsea’s next league match will see Arsenal travel to Stamford Bridge next Sunday.

All-square at Old Trafford
The most drawn fixture in the Premier League ends … in a draw.
Thankfully, the second half delivered more quality and excitement than the first, with both sides chasing the game at the end.
But ultimately, both teams lacked enough quality up front to find a late winner.

Full time
A late corner for United after Zirkzee nearly gets on to the end of a brilliant cross from the left.
Fernandes delivers from the left, but he can’t beat the defender at the near post and the full-time whistle is blown.
The points are shared at Old Trafford.

Martinez catches Palmer
Martinez is booked after a nasty challenge on Palmer.
He caught Palmer’s kneecap with his studs – that wasn’t a nice one at all. Tensions have risen at Old Trafford with a small scuffle.
VAR has checked the foul, but they agree with the referee’s decision.
