Manchester City are plotting a huge £100million signing this summer, it has been claimed.
Pep Guardiola’s men claimed a record-breaking fourth consecutive Premier League title last month, while they have won six of the last seven.
But despite their monopoly at the Premier League summit, the club are keen to add to their star-studded squad this summer, should reports be believed.
ADVERT
Indeed, according to transfer guru Ben Jacobs, City remain the most likely destination for Bruno Guimaraes, should the Brazilian depart Newcastle United this summer.
The champions are currently said to be the only club considering triggering Guimaraes’ £100million release clause or offering a number in that region.
Jacobs added that City have already made contact with Guimaraes’ camp, while Arsenal are said to be keen should the price for the Brazil international drop.
Elsewhere, despite the historical interest Paris Saint-Germain are not thought to be looking to sign the player this summer, while Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal have discussed triggering his release clause.
ADVERT
Guimaraes is said to be happy at Newcastle and not pushing to leave this summer, while he does not reportedly want to go to Saudi Arabia.
Elsewhere, City could be set to lose star midfielder Kevin de Bruyne to the Gulf state, with the 32-year-old Belgian having talked up the money one can earn playing in the Saudi Pro League.
Speaking to Het Laatste Nieuws, he said: “For [my wife] Michele, an exotic adventure is OK. These are also conversations that we are increasingly having as a family.

“My eldest is now eight years old and knows nothing but England. He also asks how long I will play for City. Once the moment comes, we will have to deal with it in a certain way.
“At my age, you have to be open to everything. You’re talking about incredible amounts of money in what may be the end of my career. Sometimes you have to think about that.”
De Bruyne added: “If I play there for two years, I will be able to earn an incredible amount of money. Before that, I had to play football for 15 years. I may not even reach that amount yet.
“Then you have to think about what that could mean next. But at the moment I haven’t had to think about that yet.”

Kevin de Bruyne has put his Manchester City future in doubt by making comments on the Saudi Pro League.
The Belgian’s City contract expires at the end of next season, with the player having been linked to a potential switch to the Middle East over the past few months.
When asked about the potential of transferring to the Saudi Pro League, De Bruyne admitted the “incredible amounts of money” on offer there makes it an attractive destination.

City boss Pep Guardiola has previously admitted that he hopes De Bruyne, who joined City from Wolfsburg for £54million in 2015, will finish his career at the club.
“I’d love him to stay but I don’t know,” Guardiola said earlier this year.
“I heard some links but I don’t know if there’s an offer, I don’t know if Saudi Arabia wants him. I would love him to stay until the end of his career, but everyone is everyone”

Manchester United are lining up a stunning £100million double swoop of Micheal Olise and Jarrad Branthwaite, it has been claimed.
United are reportedly plotting to kick off the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era with an ambitious spate of summer signings.
TalkSPORT have claimed the Old Trafford club are tracking Crystal Palace’s Olise, who has a release clause believed to be in the region of £60million.
ADVERT
Meanwhile, Everton’s Branthwaite could allegedly cost as little as £40million.
Olise starred for Palace in an injury-hit campaign, registering ten Premier League goals including a brace against United back in April in a 4-0 victory.
Meanwhile Branthwaite has emerged as one of the best young defenders in the Premier League, having earned a place in Gareth Southgate’s provisional 33-man squad ahead of Euro 2024.
The 21-year-old would allegedly be available at a cut-price fee due to the Toffees’ financial problems.

United will prioritise signing a centre-back this summer, with the departure of Raphael Varane having been confirmed, and Jonny Evans also likely to leave.
Erik ten Hag’s future remains uncertain, with the Dutchman having masterminded United’s shock FA Cup final victory over Manchester City on Saturday, but also overseen the club’s worst ever Premier League finish.

Everton full-back and former Manchester United star Ashley Young claimed Branthwaite was ready to make a step up.

Speaking on talkSPORT Drive, Young said: “I think he’s ready for the step up.
“Obviously there’s interest from other club’s who have finished in the top half of the table and rightly so because I know what kind of player he is and where he can get to.
“If it’s not with Everton, I can see him with a team that can offer him Champions League football.
“He’s definitely a player that can play in the Champions League and the big tournaments.”

Kevin De Bruyne has recently returned from injury in a massive boost to Manchester City’s silverware hopes towards the business end of the season.
The 32-year-old picked up a hamstring injury in City’s opening day Premier League win over Burnley in August which kept him on the sidelines until this month.
Upon his return to top flight action this month, the Belgian scored and grabbed an assist in City’s 3-2 win on the road against Newcastle United to give Pep Guardiola’s side a huge boost heading into the second half of the campaign as City aim to retain their Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup crowns.
City will naturally want to keep De Bruyne at the Etihad Stadium as long as possible, having been a revelation since he joined the club back in 2015 from Wolfsburg for £55m, with the attacking midfielder going down as one of the club’s greatest ever players.
ADVERT
Upon the midfielder’s return to action, Guardiola said: “Kevin is a legend. He is loved by our people and, hopefully, in the last months he can help us be there to the end.
“We need players like Kevin. We need him to do something special in the final third. That is not tactical ability but talent, individual talent.”
His current deal at City runs out in the summer of 2025, meaning he has just under 18 months left on his contract at the Etihad Stadium.

There is the suggestion that City want to extend De Bruyne’s deal to the summer of 2026, which would take his time at the club beyond a decade.
ADVERT
However, interest in the Belgian’s services has emerged in Saudi Arabia, with two clubs in particular being credited with having an interest.
According to Caught Offside, both Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr and Al Hilal have their eye on De Bruyne, who along with Liverpool’s Mo Salah represent the two most high profile targets in the sights of Saudi Arabian clubs this summer.
Though Guardiola and City are keen to extend De Bruyne’s time at the club, they have also set an expected fee of at least £100m for the Belgian if they are to part ways.
Time will tell if the offer from the Middle East is sufficient enough to prise De Bruyne away from the Premier League.

Jack Grealish is wanted by a European giant and there are doubts over his long-term future at Manchester City.
Grealish moved to the Etihad Stadium for £100m back in 2021 after impressing at boyhood club Aston Villa but has struggled to cement a regular starting spot under Pep Guardiola this season, starting just 10 Premier League games in City’s record-breaking fourth title win.
Injuries have hampered his campaign but the England international has been criticised for his lack of goal contributions, scoring only three times and registering one assist in the league.
ADVERT
The 28-year-old has been included in England’s preliminary Euro 2024 squad ahead of the likes of Marcus Rashford but speculation continues over his future at City amid reported interest from Chelsea.
Now, a new contender for his signature has emerged with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich reportedly interested in bringing him to Germany.
Bayern are closing in on the appointment of City legend Vincent Kompany as their new manager and the Belgian has identified Grealish as the perfect player to rebuild the team around, according to The Sun.
ADVERT
The report adds Kompany is a huge fan of Grealish and there is confidence Munich can convince him into moving to the Bundesliga where he would link up with international teammate Harry Kane.
Despite ending his debut season trophyless, Kane has taken the Bundesliga by storm while Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho saw his fortunes improve after returning to Germany and will play in the Champions League final for Borussia Dortmund.
Munich believe they can offer Grealish the platform to resurrect his career and nail down a starting spot in the England team.

After picking up another Premier League winners medal, Grealish admitted he was not happy with his performances during the season.
ADVERT
“I don’t feel like I’ve performed well this season at all,” he told Sky Sports. “I performed better this year than my first year. That first year I just wanted to win no matter what. Last year I played more and this season has been stop-start. I played well in points.
“My standards are high so I feel like I could’ve played more in some games. I wanted to play as much as I could like last season. We have so many good players here so it’s difficult. There’s no team in the world that rotates like this team do, but that’s the beauty of it.”
