Meanwhile, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has reportedly rejected advances from West Ham and would prefer a move to Italian giants Inter Milan this summer.

Rangers face a two-way race with Copenhagen to sign Manchester United ace Hannibal Mejbri.
Gers manager Philippe Clement was granted a closer look at Hannibal when United defeated the Scottish giants at Murrayfield last week.
According to Africafoot, Clement has made the playmaker “a priority” this summer.
Rangers are playing catch-up in the race for the 21-year-old with Copenhagen already said to have held talks with the Red Devils last week.
But it’s claimed the Tunisia international is not keen on a move to Denmark.

Jadon Sancho price tag
Manchester United could sell Jadon Sancho after his return from a successful loan stint at Borussia Dortmund.
United may be open to a £40million bid for Sancho, which is far less than the £73million they splashed to sign him from Dortmund in 2021.
The winger has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus during the summer transfer window.
The England international has returned to full training after making peace with manager Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United legend David de Gea has been offered to Genoa during the summer transfer window, reports suggest.

Schira claims an intermediary has tried to fork out a deal with the Serie A club this summer.

Mason Mount criticism
Manchester United hero Louis Saha insists Mason Mount has shown no quality at Old Trafford.
Saha told Paddy Power:
I know that Mason Mount has the potential to make us all forget about this horrific season, but it may be healthy to have competition.
Xavi Simons has been playing at the highest level, scoring and assisting, which is something we missed last year.
Mason Mount was missing games through injury last year, but in some of the games he did play, he didn’t show quality or courage, and his performances were not good enough.
He is under pressure – it’s totally normal given his quality and the price tag, and the stature that he has. We’re expecting much more, and I hope he can find a solution – other than a few glimpses in pre-season, I haven’t seen any quality from him.
It’s concerning, and he has to accept that Manchester United need someone who creates way more chances for the forwards. Last season, Bruno Fernandes was the only person doing that consistently, and that’s not what we need.

Yoro is ‘smart business’
Manchester United hero Louis Saha described the £52million signing of Leny Yoro as a “smart piece of business”.
Saha told Paddy Power:
It’s always easy to judge transfers, but the transfer market has a complex way of trying to rationalise what you want in terms of pricing.
Leny Yoro is very young, he has had only a year and a half of first-team football and people had eyes on him.
He’s had a high potential and was linked with big clubs, and it’s a great piece of business for Manchester United. He’s already proved in 45 minutes [in a pre-season friendly against Rangers] that he’s a talented and calm player and has all the materials to improve.
It’s a smart piece of business, for sure – he’s a player who, in my view, could be worth £80-£90 million. Manchester United feel this way, which is why they invested so much in him.
He will have to prove himself on the field, but anyone who has seen him will know that he can do great things in the Premier League.

Sancho ‘will leave’
Jamie O’Hara expects Jadon Sancho to leave Manchester United this summer as there is no way back after his public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag.
O’Hara told Grosvenor Sport:
I think Jadon Sancho will leave Manchester United.
I can’t see that situation being resolved between him and Erik ten Hag, they don’t have any respect for each other anymore.
The amount of money they spent on him, it’s been an absolute disaster for them.
The way it goes now with financial regulations, if you spend the amount of money they did on Sancho, it simply has to work.
That type of money wasted on one transfer can absolutely ruin a club and United cannot afford to make those mistakes again.

Jarrad Branthwaite boost
Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite is refusing to sign a new contract, with his current deal running out in 2027.
Manchester United made two bids for Branthwaite, the first worth £35million with £10m in add-ons and the second worth £45m plus £5m in add-ons – the Toffees value him at £70m.
The centre-back agreed personal terms with United and was offered a deal worth £160,000-a-week.
According to The Daily Mail, the England international won’t pen fresh terms at Goodison Park unless the Merseysiders can match the Red Devils’ proposal.

Amrabat still on radar
Loanee midfielder Sofyan Amrabat could return to Manchester United.
Football agent Giulio Tedeschi claims the Fiorentina star, 27, is a serious option despite the Red Devils being linked to PSG’s Uruguayan ace Manuel Ugarte.

Old Trafford chief Erik ten Hag is thought to have been impressed with how the Morocco anchorman finished the season.
And Tedeschi told Firenze Viola, he said: “In my opinion there is a concrete possibility of bringing Amrabat back to Manchester United.
“In my opinion there was some doubt also because it was not known whether Ten Hag would stay.
“Now that it’s certain that he will stay, there are grounds to think about bringing Amrabat back even on loan with obligation, or at a lower figure. The United solution is the easiest.”

Thiago blow puts Toney exit at risk
EXCLUSIVE: BRENTFORD have been left sweating over Igor Thiago’s knee injury which could complicate plans to sell Ivan Toney, writes TOM BARCLAY.
Striker Thiago, 23, joined for £30million this month from Club Brugge with a view to being Toney’s replacement.

But the record signing hurt his meniscus during the Bees’ 5-2 win over Wimbledon on Saturday, despite scoring twice.
Brazilian Thiago will have further scans next week to determine the extent of the damage.
Meniscus injuries can vary in severity with relatively minor ones leaving a player sidelined for four to eight weeks.
But a bad tear can be four to six months.
Should scans reveal it to be the worst-case scenario, that could have an impact on Toney.
The Three Lions forward, 28, has less than a year left on his Bees contract and would like to leave to play at a higher-profile club.
Brentford were looking to cash in during this window rather than lose him for nothing in June.

Manchester United ARE in talks with Inter Milan over swapping Aaron Wan-Bissaka for the Italians’ flying Dutchman Denzel Dumfries.

Onana explains why he chose Villa over Man Utd
Amadou Onana says he snubbed Manchester United to sign for Aston Villa because the league table doesn’t lie, writes GRAEME BRYCE.
And Unai Emery was able to offer him the Champions’ League football Erik ten Hag couldn’t.

The £50milion Belgium midfielder rejected better financial terms from United for a five-year-Villa deal.
Onana claims it was a careful calculation and in the final analysis he believed Emery could improve his game quicker than Ten Hag could.
Asked why he snubbed United for Villa, Onana told Belgian sports paper La Derniere Heure: “I think that’s where I should be (Villa).
“For me, Aston Villa is part of the top of English football. The ranking speaks for itself and is significant.
“The general public may think that it is not the most glamorous club but it was the best choice for the player I am today.
“Aston Villa is a top club. I went where I felt the right ambition and the best project to make me grow.
“The environment seemed the most conducive to my development and I will be able to work with Unai Emery, one of the most qualified coaches in the field.”

Toney exit in doubt
Ivan Toney’s Brentford exit is in doubt after his replacement Igor Thiago suffered an injury.
West Ham and Tottenham are in the hunt for Toney, with Manchester United linlked at one stage – with SunSport exclusively revealing that the Bees were prepared to slash their asking price by £30million.
But those plans may be shelved after Thiago hurt his meniscus.
The Brazilian hitman, 23, scored twice in a 5-2 friendly win over Wimbledon but will miss tonight’s clash with Benfica.
It was an excellent start to his time in West London but the shine was taken off by his setback.
A club statement confirmed: “Brentford’s Igor Thiago suffered a meniscus injury during the Bees’ 5-2 victory over AFC Wimbledon.
“The striker, who scored a brace on his first appearance for the club, is unavailable for this evening’s game against Benfica and will have further scans next week to determine the extent of the injury.”
