DAVID ORTIZ MAKES HIS CASE FOR ALEX BREGMAN: “HE’D BE A PERFECT FIT FOR THE RED SOX”

Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz never hesitates to speak his mind, and his latest comments on the team’s offseason plans are no exception. In a recent interview, Ortiz made it clear that he wants to see Alex Bregman in a Red Sox uniform, and he didn’t mince words in explaining why.

“Alex Bregman would be a perfect fit for the Red Sox,” Ortiz said. “He’s a talented player who can hit, field, and bring a lot of energy to the team. He’s exactly what the Red Sox need right now.”

Ortiz, who played a crucial role in the Red Sox’ World Series championships in 2004, 2007, and 2013, knows a thing or two about what it takes to win in Boston. And in his opinion, Bregman has all the ingredients to be a key contributor to the team’s success.

“One of the things that impresses me about Bregman is his ability to hit in the clutch,” Ortiz said. “He’s a guy who can come through in big situations, and that’s something that’s hard to find. He’s also a great defender, and his versatility would be a huge asset to the Red Sox.”

Of course, Ortiz is not just speaking as a fan – he’s also speaking from experience. He played alongside some of the greatest players in Red Sox history, including Pedro Martinez, Jason Varitek, and Manny Ramirez. And he knows that Bregman has the potential to be a key player in the Red Sox’ lineup.

“I think Bregman would thrive in Boston,” Ortiz said. “He’s a guy who loves the spotlight, and he’s not afraid to speak his mind. He’d fit right in with the Red Sox’ culture, and I think he’d be a fan favorite from day one.”

Ortiz’s comments come at a time when the Red Sox are reportedly in the mix for Bregman’s services. The 29-year-old third baseman is one of the top free agents on the market, and the Red Sox are said to be one of the teams that are aggressively pursuing him.

While nothing is official yet, Ortiz is confident that the Red Sox will make a strong push for Bregman. And if they do, he’s convinced that it will be a move that pays dividends for years to come.

“I think the Red Sox would be crazy not to go after Bregman,” Ortiz said. “He’s a talented player who can make a huge impact on the team. And if they can sign him, I think it would be a move that would excite the fans and give the team a lot of momentum heading into the season.”

As the Red Sox continue to navigate the offseason, one thing is clear: David Ortiz is all-in on Alex Bregman. And if the Red Sox do decide to pursue him, they’ll have the backing of one of the greatest players in franchise history.
