Manchester United have made an approach to sign Colombia midfielder Richard Rios from Palmeiras.
Rios impressed as Colombia finished as runners-up at this summer’s Copa America, where the central midfielder impressed with his dynamism. The 24-year-old led the tournament for successful take-ons as Colombia reached a first final in 23 years.
A relative unknown outside of South America before the tournament, his performances have placed Rios in the spotlight and attracted attention from Europe.

GOAL are reporting that Manchester United will rival AC Milan to sign the midfielder, having submitted an enquiry ahead of a bid in the region of £17m.
Erik ten Hag has moved quickly to strengthen his squad this summer with the Red Devils completing deals for Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro in time for the first pre-season games of the campaign.
A second centre-back signing to follow Yoro remains on the agenda amid negotiations with Bayern Munich for Matthijs de Ligt, alongside the addition of at least one new central midfielder.
United have opted against triggering the €20m clause to turn Sofyan Amrabat’s loan move into a permanent deal, while there are doubts the futures of Scott McTominay and Casemiro.
