Atletico Madrid’s Saul in advanced talks to join Sevilla on loan
Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul is in advanced to join Sevilla on a season-long loan deal.
The move would see the former Spain international join Sevilla on loan for the 2024-25 season and the club could make the move permanent through a complex transfer formula, although this cannot be defined as a purchase option and the player may return to Atletico at the end of the campaign.
Saul, 29, has started just 25 La Liga games across the last two seasons for Atletico, who are keen to reduce the outgoings on their first-team squad salary this summer.

Lyon identify Arsenal’s McCabe as summer transfer target
Arsenal face a challenge to retain one of their leading women’s players, with Katie McCabe identified by Lyon as a firm target this summer.
The north London side recently saw Vivianne Miedema, the Women’s Super League’s all-time top scorer, move to rivals Manchester City on a free transfer when her contract expired.
Arsenal decided against offering Miedema a new deal — the decorated former Barcelona forward Mariona Caldentey has joined as a replacement — whereas McCabe signed fresh terms last year and the club want her to stay.

Under the terms of Dele’s transfer from Tottenham to Everton in January 2022, the north London club were due a significant fee if the 28-year-old agreed a new contract at Goodison Park.
Dele is a free agent after his Everton contract expired at the end of last month. Discussions between Spurs and Everton are ongoing over a revised payment structure that would allow the Merseyside club to re-sign Dele should they wish. As part of this deal, Spurs are likely to retain a sell-on clause if Dele departs Everton for a fee in the future.

Ipswich agree deal with Hull for Greaves

Ipswich Town have reached an agreement with Hull City for the signing of defender Jacob Greaves for a fee in the region of £15million.
The deal will also include add-ons expected to be worth approximately £3m.
Greaves is set to sign a five-year deal to keep him at the club until 2029, and the final paperwork is in the process of being completed.
The 23-year-old centre-back had been granted permission to undergo a medical on Sunday as Ipswich looked to complete a joint move for Greaves and Hull team-mate Jaden Philogene, but the move had been delayed as Philogene continued to attract interest from elsewhere.
Ipswich had made a joint offer worth about £35million plus add-ons for Greaves and Philogene, and while the newly-promoted club are continuing to pursue Philogene, his former club Aston Villa made a move to re-sign him by activating a matching rights clause they negotiated in the deal that saw him sold to Hull last summer.
Everton also made a £16m bid for the Villa academy graduate this month, while Crystal Palace are monitoring the situation.
Greaves, who joined Hull’s youth system in 2008, was viewed as a key player in the Yorkshire club’s own bid to follow in the footsteps of Ipswich and achieve promotion to the Premier League.
He has made 177 first-team appearances for the club and was named in the the Championship Team of the Season for 2023–24.
