Confirmed: United’s squad for Rangers clash

Erik ten Hag has named a 26-man squad for Manchester United’s pre-season friendly against Rangers later today.

 

The clash, our second of the pre-season campaign following Monday’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Rosenborg in Norway, will be live on MUTV.

 

Ahead of kick-off at 16:00 BST, and the start of our pre-match show one hour before, our players have been travelling to Edinburgh and there are several fresh additions to the group that was deployed for our summer opener earlier in the week.

That includes new recruit Leny Yoro, who is in contention to make his first United outing this afternoon, after becoming our men’s team’s second signing of the summer on Thursday.

 

Having completed his transfer from Lille, the young defender trained with his new team-mates at Carrington on Friday and we may not have to wait long to see him in action donning the red shirt.

 

Yoro comes into the squad alongside Amad, Andre Onana and Jadon Sancho who would all get their first minutes of the pre-season if they play at Murrayfield, having not travelled for Monday’s game in Norway.

 

Antony, Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford miss this one with small niggles. Harry Maguire is also an absentee but has been seen in training this week as he works his way back to full fitness from an injury. Tyrell Malacia is continuing his fitness programme at Carrington meanwhile, where Scott McTominay is also building up his sharpness having recently returned from the Euros.
