Manchester United are unlikely to sign many players in the January transfer window, but there is a chance that a number of players will leave Old Trafford in the new year.
Erik ten Hag has already confirmed that the Reds are looking to recruit a striker following the recent departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Meanwhile, several United players are being linked with moves away from the club in January – with United keen to move on some of their fringe players, while also allowing certain younger players to depart on loan.
With the winter transfer window now open, MEN Sport has taken a look at seven players who could leave Old Trafford at some point this month.
Anthony Elanga
The 20-year-old has endured a difficult campaign so far this term and has made just 15 appearances in all competitions, with just six of those coming as a starter for Ten Hag’s side. He has fallen behind Alejandro Garnacho in the pecking order and is unlikely to feature consistently for the remainder of the season.
Elanga is certainly worth keeping at Old Trafford, especially considering his age. However, a loan move could be beneficial for the Swedish international as he looks to rediscover the form he showed last season.
Verdict: Loan transfer
