“He is a Chelsea player, absolutely,” said Pep Guardiola about Raheem Sterling last Friday.
Chelsea have made Sterling surplus to requirements and Guardiola poured cold water over the possibility of Manchester City re-signing the winger at his press conference.
“So I just wish him all the best. If you ask me this question when Gundo was in Barcelona, the answer: the same,” Guardiola added. City will not re-sign Sterling but it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that he returns to Manchester, this time making a move to Old Trafford.
It must be stressed the chances of Sterling making a sensational move to Manchester United are slim, however, stranger things have happened and shocking transfers can happen.
