Transfer news LIVE!
Manchester United are on the cusp of announcing Leny Yoro as a £58million signing from Lille today as one of the biggest moves of the summer transfer window, and they won’t stop there. A plan is being hatched to sign Matthijs de Ligt in a further boost to their defence aided by Mason Greenwood’s sale to Marseille.
Arsenal are being forced to wait for Bologna to settle an issue with Riccardo Calafiori’s club Basel before they can press ahead with that deal, although young goalkeeper Tommy Setford should join in the meantime. Mikel Merino is another target for the Gunners.
Over at Chelsea, Nico Williams remains linked amid his agent holding talks with Barcelona whereas Victor Osimhen is edging towards a big-money move to Paris Saint-Germain. That deal would see Romelu Lukaku finally leave for Napoli. West Ham have agreed a deal for Jean-Clair Todibo while Tottenham and Liverpool remain active in the market. Fulham keen on £25m-rated Andre
Fulham are pushing to sign midfielder Andre from Brazilian side Fluminense as a replacement for Joao Palhinha.
The Cottagers earnt a club-record fee of up to £47.5million including add-ons for Palhinha, who left for Bayern Munich this month after almost joining the German club last summer and again in January.
Brazilian international Andre is now back on Fulham’s radar, having agreed personal terms with the London club in January when it looked like Palhinha would leave.
Fulham hope to strike a deal with Andre, who Fluminense value at around £25m.
Andre, 23, was first of interest to Fulham last August, and the club were in regular dialogue with his representatives throughout last season.

Nicolas Pepe reveals ‘trauma’ after Arsenal move
Nicolas Pepe has described his time at Arsenal as a “kind of trauma” and revealed he considered quitting football.
The winger joined the Gunners in 2019 from Lille for a then club-record fee of €80million (£72m), but he struggled to deliver.
Pepe was loaned to Nice for the 2022-23 season, taking a pay-cut to do so, but left Arsenal by mutual consent with a year to go on his contract 12 months later.
The 29-year-old joined Turkish side Trabzonspor, but he is now once again a free agent after his contract expired there and now for the first time he has opened up on how his move to Arsenal impacted him.
“At Arsenal, I had suffered a kind of trauma, as if my passion had been taken away from me, I had a distaste for football,” Pepe told L’Equipe.
“By no longer playing, I wondered why I was doing this job. I doubted to the point that I thought about stopping everything.
“I wondered how they could have attacked me so much. People went so far as to call me the biggest flop in the history of the Premier League!
“I didn’t ask for €80m to be spent on me.”

Strasbourg finished 13th last season in Ligue 1, having finished 15th the year before, and the decision has been made by the club and Viera to part ways.
“We would like to express our gratitude and thank Patrick for the work he has accomplished during this first phase of the project and we wish him much success in the future,” Strasbourg president Marc Keller said.
“He will always be welcome at the club.”

Alexis Mac Allister not going anywhere
Alexis Mac Allister was linked with a move to Real Madrid earlier in the summer, but his father has insisted the midfielder remains fully committed to Liverpool.
‘Alexis is performing very well at Liverpool, and this is the important thing to say at the moment,” he said.
‘There are no negotiations from Real Madrid with Alexis, and the player will continue with Liverpool next season.
“If future offers arrive to sign Alexis, we will discuss them with Liverpool’s management first.”

Graham Potter responds to England links
Some manager news for you.
Graham Potter has been speaking this afternoon and was unsurprisingly asked about links with the England job.
The former Chelsea boss is among the favourites to replace Graham Southgate, but swatted aside that question when asked if he was interested in taking the job.
He said: “I’d like to wish [Southgate] well, I hope he has a nice break, and wish him well for whatever he decides to do next.”
On why he has been out of management since being sacked by Chelsea last April, Potter said: “I spoke to a few clubs but it wasn’t the right thing.
“It was important I was patient and waited for the right opportunity and took the time with the family to reflect and think about what I wanted to do.
“Now I’m in that good place where I’m happy to be ready and looking forward to the next challenge.”
