Juventus host Manchester City in the League Stage of the UEFA Champions League.
The match at Stadio Delle Alpi, Turin, Italy, kicks off at 9pm local time (20:00 GMT).
Juve and City have both won two and lost one of their five matches in this year’s competition.
The Italian club are sixth in Serie A having drawn nine of their 15 games – but remain unbeaten in Italy’s domestic league this season.
City, who won five trophies in 2023 including the Champions League, are fourth in the English Premier League having won eight and lost four of their 15 games so far.

Head-to-head: Juventus vs Manchester City
This is only the seventh meeting between the clubs with Juve winning three of the encounters and City taking the spoils just once.
That win was in the old UEFA Cup in September 1976 when City won 1-0 in Manchester in the early stages of the competition but Juve won the return leg 2-0.
Two draws came from the 2010 meetings in the group stage of the Europa League, while Juve have won the last two fixtures – which were group-stage encounters in the Champions League in 2015.

Juve insist there is no ‘good’ time to face City
Manchester City might be deep in a crisis which is unprecedented under iconic coach Pep Guardiola but on Wednesday the wobbling English champions take on a Juventus team with troubles of their own.
Juventus were booed and whistled by their supporters on Saturday night when they struggled back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at the death with mid-table Bologna.
Fans, who were expecting a change of tune when coach Thiago Motta left Bologna to replace Massimiliano Allegri in the summer, have been frustrated by a run of four straight draws which have left Juve off the pace at home and in Europe.
Had Juve not been in such uninspiring form Wednesday would have been a perfect opportunity to leapfrog City in the Champions League table, where the Italians sit 19th, behind their Premier League opponents on goal difference.
“I don’t think there is a best time to play Manchester City, but we will face the match as we always do, by trying to stop them from playing their football and impose our own play on them,” said Motta on Saturday.
Juve have drawn 11 of their 20 matches in all competitions this season and are seven points behind new Serie A leaders Atalanta after 15 matches, not the start that the club were hoping for.
Two wins from nine matches in all competitions, a run which includes a fully deserved home defeat to Stuttgart in October, have set the alarm bells ringing to the point that Agnelli family figurehead John Elkann visited the club’s Continassa training ground on Monday.
Elkann is the CEO of Exor, the holding company of the Agnellis who have long controlled Juve and are as close to a royal family as Italy has had since the country became a republic in 1946.
“We’re a young team and we need to improve in all departments, both physically and mentally,” Motta told reporters on Tuesday.
“But we have shown more than once that we have a lot of character, we play well as a unit… We have the potential to improve in all areas.”

City defender Ruben Dias said he and his teammates relish the challenge
“Our way is to stick together, whatever people throw at us and whatever difficulties might come, because football is about that as much as life is. And of course, it’s not an easy period and we’re used to being in very different situations,” Dias said.
“This is the time in which you show character, in which you show who you are. I’ve always believed that in the most difficult moments in life, you show your true colours, and this is one of them.”

Guardiola wants City to keep it simple
City are mired in a run of poor performances, with just one victory in their last nine games across all competitions – the worst stretch of results in Guardiola’s mostly glittering managerial career.
“What will save us is the way we play,” Guardiola said. “We have to play so simple.
“And now, we are at a moment that we attack so quick, and we do a lot of things not in the right tempo that we lose the ball. We have to be so simple and basic to what we are as a team, and that confidence going back to the simple things, just have the ball and pass the ball, in the right foot, in the right tempo, the simple things do it better.
“And after that, you will get the confidence, because you cannot imagine how you regain the confidence when you make an extra thousand, million passes, and you are involved in the game, you are involved together. That helps us to be who we are.”

Juve and City’s Champions League needs
Both Juventus and Man City have won two, drawn two and lost one to this this point and their place in the League Stage is perilous.
With three games left, both sides need to significantly improve their form, and results, to clinch a top-eight spot that would earn a last-16 place and avoid a playoff.

Turin offers a taster of the FIFA Club World Cup
Premier League champions Manchester City last Thursday were drawn with Juventus, Wydad AC and Al Ain in Group G for next year’s expanded 32-team FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
Host nation Inter Miami, invited by FIFA to compete despite criticism from many in the football world, will play the tournament’s first match on June 15, against Egyptian club Al Ahly, as part of a group that will also feature Palmeiras and Porto.
The tournament, featuring top teams from around the world, will be held in 12 stadiums around the country from June 15 – July 13, and serve as a rehearsal for the 2026 World Cup co-hosted by the US, Mexico and Canada.
Miami were the penultimate team added to the tournament after winning the “Supporters’ Shield” for finishing top of the MLS standings in the regular season before losing in the opening round of the MLS playoffs last month.
The Florida-based club, as a representative of the host nation, gets the distinction of playing the first match, which will be staged at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
“It’s about inclusivity, it’s about bringing clubs from all over the world, the 32 best clubs and best players from all over the world together,” FIFA President Gianni Infantino said.
Some would argue it is not the 32 “best” clubs. Inter Miami’s selection was widely panned by critics, the volume of that only rising after the team suffered a shock defeat in Round 1 of the MLS Cup playoffs to Atlanta United.
“There’s no controversy,” Inter Miami managing owner Jorge Mas said, before adding that the privilege of playing the opening match of the tournament at home is “a testament to our community, the soccer culture that’s here”.

Manchester City changes and formation
Phil Foden and Mateo Kovacic bolster a depleted City side with a return to the bench following their respective injury spells.
Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake also miss out from selection as they continue their recovery.
City have elected to go in with a matching 4-2-3-1, with Erling Haaland posing a significant threat up front.

Juventus changes and formation
Dusan Vlahovic will feature again as the lone centre forward upfront after making his injury comeback against Bologna on December 7.
Weston McKennie was also expected to start after missing Juventus’ last three matches, but has not been named in the starting lineup.
After sustaining an ankle knock against Bologna, fullback Andrea Cambiaso was hopeful of making a return, but he, too, will miss out in action against City.
The Old Lady have opted to go in with a 4-2-3-1 formation in this crucial clash.
