When United last met Barnsley

It’s been almost 15 years since the two sides played each other in a competitive game.

Back in October 2009, United were the away side, travelling to Oakwell Stadium for a fourth-round tie in the League Cup.

Goals from Danny Welbeck and Michael Owen sealed a 2-0 win for Sir Alex Ferguson’s men – who went on to lift the trophy four months later at Wembley Stadium.
