Frank Lampard ‘rejects’ chance to return to management with Manchester United

Frank Lampard has reportedly turned down the opportunity to manage the Canada national team, making his managerial intentions clear. The Chelsea legend was among those shortlisted for the role but has decided against a return to management at this time.

 

 

Since his interim stint at Stamford Bridge last season following Graham Potter’s disappointing tenure as Chelsea manager, Lampard has been without a club. Despite failing to ignite a spark in the team, he has been linked with various clubs across Europe, both domestically and internationally.

 

 

The Canada national team had reportedly added the former Everton manager to their shortlist for a potential long-term appointment. However, according to The Telegraph, Lampard has now removed himself from consideration for the role, choosing instead to wait for the ‘right opportunity’.

 

Lampard has openly expressed his desire to return to management when the time is right. Given his track record of leading Derby County to the Championship play-offs under challenging conditions, ensuring Everton’s safety, and showing potential at Chelsea, it’s unlikely he’ll be lacking offers in the future.

Lampard, who was seen observing Gareth Southgate’s England training sessions ahead of last month’s friendlies against Brazil and Belgium, continues to be a regular sight at football grounds across the nation, reports the Express.

 

Discussing his ambition to return to management earlier this season, Lampard shared: “I’m enjoying being with the family and looking to get back at some point,’ said Lampard. “Hopefully something comes up that feels right for me, I’m keen to get working again but as I reiterate, I’m enjoying family life.
