Manchester United shouldn’t hesitate to spend an additional £50million to secure the signature of Michael Olise, according to Dwight Yorke.
The Crystal Palace star is set to soon join Bayern Munich in a £50.7m deal, beating competition from Chelsea, Newcastle, and indeed Manchester United, despite their long-term interest in him which ultimately didn’t materialise into a concrete deal.
Yorke strongly feels that United should counteract Bayern’s move by doubling the offer, suggesting a considerable nine-figure payout for the 22-year-old star, reports the Manchester Evening News.
While speaking to Crypto Sports Betting, Yorke, a member of United’s iconic 1999 treble-winning team, asserted: “Man United should have wrapped up signing Michael Olise already, you can see the boy is a class act and would blossom at the club. He’s taken his opportunity at Crystal Palace and impressed.”

Erik ten Hag spent £210m on his first 5 Man Utd signings – none are first-team regulars
The ex-United forward, who racked up 65 goals from his 152 appearances with the team, believes it wouldn’t be beyond capability for the club to offer more than £100million, given they’d previously spent £85million on Antony whose performance has been deemed unsatisfactory in his two years at Old Trafford.
Yorke added: “Nowadays, that kind of player will be worth easily at least £50m, but if Man United are signing Antony for £85m, they will probably pay upwards of £100m for Olise. Man United can’t complain what Palace value Olise at if they’re seeing how much money was spent on the likes of Antony.”

As Erik ten Hag is on the brink of signing a contract extension, there’s been plenty of speculation about who the Dutch manager might be eyeing to bolster his squad, especially given the pressure he’ll be under to improve on this season’s disappointing eighth-place finish in the Premier League.
Despite the league disappointment, Ten Hag did manage to secure a second consecutive trophy for the club by beating Manchester City 2-1 in the FA Cup – a victory that many reckon saved his position at the helm.
