The Premier League will announce Manchester United and Manchester City’s schedule for the 2024/25 season on Tuesday, June 18.

Although Erik ten Hag enjoyed a brilliant first year in charge at Old Trafford, United have regressed this term and winning the FA Cup is the only hope of salvaging the campaign. They face City in the Wembley showpiece with Pep Guardiola’s side chasing a domestic double.

City have a chance to make history in the coming weeks by becoming the first side to win four successive Premier League titles. The Blues are currently four points behind Arsenal but have two games in hand and have been widely tipped to defend their league title.

United and City fans will be excited to see which new players are signed and there is also anticipation for the announcement of the Premier League fixture list for 24/25 on June 18. The dates for all 380 matches in the Premier League will be released and the 24/25 season will consist of 33 weekends, four midweek rounds of matches and one Bank Holiday matchweek.

The campaign starts on 17 August 2024, 90 days after this season concludes, and the final match round will be played on 25 May 2025.

Sheffield United have officially been relegated and two from Burnley, Luton Town and Nottingham Forest will join the Blades in the Championship next term.

The Premier League has announced its start and end dates for the 2024/25 season.

The campaign will take place following the summer of 2024’s European Championship finals in Germany, and is due to begin on Saturday 17 August, although a Friday-night opener is a possibility.

It has also been pledged that there will be sufficient rest time for players across the festive period next year, before the term concludes on Sunday 25 May 2025.

FEBRUARY FIXTURE CHANGES FOR REDS Article

An official statement read: “The Premier League 2024/25 season dates have been confirmed with the season starting on 17 August 2024.

“The final match round of the campaign will be played on 25 May 2025, when all games will kick off simultaneously as usual.

“In keeping with previous commitments made to clubs to address the congested schedule across Christmas and new year, arrangements will be made to allow more rest time over three of the festive match rounds, with no club playing within 60 hours of another match.”

United still have three matches left before this calendar year is out, taking on West Ham, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.

Our final game of the 2023/24 campaign is against Brighton & Hove Albion, away from home, on Sunday 19 May, kicking off at 16:00 BST.
