Both Arsenal and Chelsea continue to be linked with an interest in former Real Madrid man Karim Benzema as his future in Saudi Arabia remains uncertain.
The 36-year-old has been with Al-Ittihad for six months, in that time, he has scored 12 times in 20 appearances for the club while providing a further five assists. Despite continuing his impressive goalscoring record, reports have linked him with a move to the Premier League.
According to the MailOnline, he’s been left out of Al-Ittihad’s mid-season training camp in Dubai after repeatedly failing to report for duty. However, the France international’s camp have insisted that he is stuck in Mauritius, where he was on holiday, due to a tropical storm.
The speculation over his future continues to build as the January transfer window continues. With that in mind, football.london have taken a look at the latest over a possible move before the end of the month.
Jordan Henderson example
It is claimed that Benzema is unhappy in the Saudi Pro League and is looking to join Jordan Henderson in moving back to Europe. ESPN report that the striker is ‘exploring his options’ after just six months in the country.

Henderson has now officially completed his move back to Europe, joining Ajax from Al-Ettifaq, just six months after joining the Saudi club from Liverpool. His exit could now possibly open doors for other to follow back to Europe.
