Manchester United have moved closer to striking a deal to sign left-back Marc Cucurella.
Fabrizio Romano reports Manchester United have reached an agreement in principle over the player’s personal terms, and Cucurella is keen to join.
Cucurella earns £175,000 per week at Chelsea, The Mirror report, after he signed a lucrative deal when he signed from Brighton last summer.
He became the world’s most expensive left-back when he joined a year ago for around £62 million.

Cucurella needs a move
Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino played down that an exit is imminent for Cucurella in his latest press conference.
However, the defender has not played a single minute this season, and it makes sense for Chelsea to get his wages off the books.

The Athletic report Manchester United have submitted a formal offer for Cucurella, described as an ‘initial loan’.
United make decision
Fabrizio Romano reports Manchester United have decided Cucurella is the only left-back the club want to negotiate for right now.
He states: “Man United won’t negotiate for any other left back now — as they want to get Cucurella deal done with Chelsea ASAP.”
Various other defenders have been linked, Marcos Alonso, Sergio Reguilon, Rico Henry, Ferdi Kacioglu, Nicolas Tagliafico and Leonardo Spinazzola. But it seems like Cucurella is the one United are currently focused on.
All that remains is to find a middle ground with Chelsea over a loan fee.
