Manchester United’s owners, the Glazers, are “conversating with many groups” as they look to sell the Old Trafford club in the near future, journalist Fabrizio Romano has told GiveMeSport.
The Red Devils were put up for sale in November, whilst head coach Erik ten Hag looks to keep matters on the pitch in order.

Man Utd news – Takeover
As per The Times, INEOS chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe has confirmed his interest in purchasing Manchester United and has formally confirmed that he will begin the process of attempting to buy the club.
Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has backed the takeover, with the most important thing in his eyes being the departure of the Glazers from the Old Trafford outfit.
The former Red Devils full-back told Sky Sports (via the Daily Mirror): “The main thing is that the Glazers leave as quickly as possible and the second thing is that, whoever takes it over, if they could hand it over to people who are in good hands and have a feeling for the club, that would be great.”
CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has recently told GiveMeSport that sources within Manchester United are expecting “significant progress” to have been made on the sale of the club come May this year.
And Romano has told GMS that it’s also important to note that there are many parties interested in securing a stake in the Premier League club, not just INEOS and Ratcliffe.
What has Romano said about Man Utd?
Romano told GiveMeSport: “It’s important to say that other groups are interested and the situation is open. They are conversating with many groups, so I think it will take some time.”

What next for Man Utd?
For ten Hag, his main focus will be securing any additions to the squad that he feels are required as we head into the final weeks of the January transfer window.
After Wednesday evening’s 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace, United sit eight points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal, suggesting that the side’s best chance of a major trophy this season is that of the Europa League, FA Cup or Carabao Cup.
However, those inside the Premier League giants will be hoping for the club’s sale to be smooth, with the two-time European Cup winners wanting to move on from the Glazer era imminently.
Therefore, if ten Hag can produce a strong second half of the campaign and add another honour to United’s impressive trophy cabinet, the Red Devils faithful may just feel that a new exciting era for their club is dawning.
