Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino are under huge pressure at their respective clubs. Manchester United are sixth in the Premier League, a whopping 11 points adrift of the Champions League places.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are a further eight points behind United, way down in 11th place. There has been plenty of talk around both managers’ positions, with sack talk growing with every poor result.

United had looked like they had turned a corner with four straight wins over Wolves, West Ham, Aston Villa and Luton to haul themselves back into Champions League contention. But back-to-back defeats to Fulham and the Manchester derby defeat to City last weekend have seen calls for ten Hag to be sacked grow again.

Pochettino has failed to get Chelsea firing all season, with sack calls intensifying after the meek Carabao Cup final defeat to Liverpool’s youngsters at the end of February. It could be a race between the two to see who lasts longer.

And, despite their position five places behind United, TalkSport pundit Ally McCoist believes it is ten hag who is more under threat. Speaking to TalkSport Bet, he said: “Erik ten Hag is under more pressure at Manchester United than Mauricio Pochettino is at Chelsea, I think he’s more in danger of losing his job before the end of the season.

“There’s more pressure on ten Hag at United. He’s got more problems with his squad – the issues he’s had with the likes of Antony, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, a lot of people saying Bruno Fernandes isn’t a captain. Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez have had their fitness issues and so United just don’t look the same defensively.
