Should they better Newcastle’s result at Brentford, they will take seventh place and a spot in the Europa Conference League.

Either way, they can only reach the Europa League by winning the FA Cup next weekend due to their poor goal difference compared to sixth-placed Chelsea.

Erik ten Hag was able to welcome back a number of key players in midweek and will be confident of avoiding the club’s lowest-ever finish of eighth in the Premier League era.

This game will also be Roberto De Zerbi’s last in the Brighton dugout after his surprise decision to leave by mutual consent.

Date, kick-off time and venue
