The FA Cup final between Manchester City and Manchester United at Wembley next month will kick off at 3pm, it has been announced.

City and United progressed to the showpiece event on Saturday, May 25 for the second season running over the weekend, beating Chelsea and Coventry City respectively. City beat Chelsea 1-0 on Saturday before United edged a chaotic clash with the Sky Blues on penalties.

Just like last year, it has now been confirmed that the final will kick off at the traditional time of 3pm. It will be broadcast live on both BBC One and ITV1.

In previous years, the kick-off time for the final has varied, with the last three kicking off at 5.15pm, 4.45pm and 3pm respectively. The fixture between City and United last season was deemed ‘high risk’ by the Metropolitan Police.

The Football Association has said a repeat of the 3pm kick-off time has been agreed by the clubs, local authority, members of the Safety Advisory Group [SAG] and broadcasters.

As well as being shown live on both BBC One and ITV1, the game will be available via their respective streaming platforms, which do require an account to be created. They are BBC iPlayer and ITVX.
